Job Title : Oracle Utilities Tester

Role Overview :

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Oracle Utilities Tester to join our team. This position will play a key role in validating and ensuring the performance, stability, and functionality of Oracle Utilities applications, including Customer Care and Billing (CCB), Mobile Workforce Management (MWM), Meter Data Management (MDM), Smart Grid Gateway (SGG), and SOA Suite. This role requires comprehensive test planning, execution of test cases for patches and upgrades, validation of smart grid and API integrations, and collaboration across technical and business teams. Candidates should also be prepared to support after-hours and onsite / offsite testing environments when required.

Key Responsibilities :

Test Planning and Design :

  • Develop test plans and test cases based on technical specifications and business requirements.
  • Design and execute functional, regression, integration, and performance tests across the Oracle Utilities suite.
  • Create and manage test scripts for various usage scenarios.

Test Execution :

  • Conduct manual and automated testing for Oracle Utilities applications (CCB, MWM, MDM, SGG, SOA Suite).
  • Validate deployments during upgrades and patch cycles.
  • Track defects, reproduce issues, and verify fixes using industry-standard tools.
  • Collaboration and Communication :

  • Partner with developers, analysts, and systems engineers to clarify requirements and test design.
  • Actively participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and UAT.
  • Provide usability and quality feedback from a customer-oriented perspective.
  • Quality Assurance :

  • Validate system modifications for stability, security, and data integrity.
  • Ensure adherence to QA best practices and project-specific performance metrics.
  • Execute test cycles for business process optimization initiatives.
  • Documentation and Reporting :

  • Maintain thorough documentation of all testing artifacts.
  • Prepare summaries and QA reporting to inform stakeholders.
  • Provide audit-ready defect logs and traceability matrices.
  • Continuous Improvement :

  • Recommend and implement improvements to QA practices.
  • Identify automation opportunities and optimize regression test suites.
  • Remain current with trends in test automation and Oracle Utilities functionality.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • ISTQB or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience :

  • 5+ years of QA / testing experience focused on Oracle Utilities or Oracle CIS.
  • Experience testing application patches, enhancements, and utility workflows.
  • Strong familiarity with test and defect tracking tools.
  • Technical Skills :

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Utilities suite (CCB, MWM, MDM, SGG, SOA Suite).
  • Proficient in SQL and database testing for Oracle platforms.
  • Familiarity with Selenium, JIRA, API / web services testing, and automation tools.
  • Understanding of Smart Grid integrations and data flows.
  • Soft Skills :

  • Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Clear communicator with strong documentation and collaboration skills.
  • Able to work independently and adapt to a dynamic, hybrid work environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous utility or telecommunications testing experience.
  • Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with performance and load testing.
