Position Summary
The Learning Experience Designer at PKF O’Connor Davies will partner closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), service-line leaders and other stakeholders to design, develop, deliver and evaluate engaging learning solutions. This role spans multiple modalities (instructor-led, virtual, eLearning, blended) and supports the Firm’s strategic objectives, career development initiatives and performance enhancement goals. This individual will apply instructional design best practices, adult learning theory, learning experience design principles and emerging technologies to create impactful learning that drives results.
This Learning Experience Designer must be able to work in a rapidly changing environment and provide a timely, high-quality and accurate work product.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead design and development of learning solutions across modalities : instructor-led training, virtual instructor-led training, eLearning / micro-learning, blended programs, performance support tools, job-aids, and just-in-time learning assets.
- Conduct learning needs analysis / performance gap assessments in collaboration with business stakeholders (SMEs, service-line leaders) to identify learning priorities and define measurable learning objectives.
- Partner with SMEs to translate technical, regulatory or service line content into clear, learner centric materials that align with firm goals, audit / tax / consulting service lines and adult learning principles.
- Apply instructional design and learning experience design methodologies to create immersive, accessible and inclusive learning experiences.
- Develop storyboards, scripts, facilitator guides, participant guides, assessments, and all required instructional materials ensuring high quality, consistency and adherence to branding / standards.
- Utilize authoring and media development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline / Rise, Camtasia, Lectora, or similar) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) for development, implementation and tracking of learning initiatives.
- Support rollout and delivery of training programs — whether by facilitating directly, supporting facilitators / trainers, or managing logistics in coordination with L&D team.
- Evaluate program effectiveness via feedback, assessments, learning metrics, business impact, and then recommend and implement continuous improvements.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently : coordinate timelines, deliverables, communications, stakeholder engagement, quality assurance and budget (as applicable).
- Stay current with emerging trends, technologies and best practices in L&D (micro-learning, mobile learning, gamification, adaptive learning, analytics) and proactively recommend innovations for enhancing the learning experience.
- Provide advisory support and consult with internal business partners and stakeholders on learning strategy, design choices, and learning-intervention alignment with firm objectives and learning competency frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory / training standards (NASBA Registry) as applicable.
Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Approximately 3-5 years of experience in learning design / instructional design in a corporate or professional services environment, including hands-on development of multi-modal learning solutions.Demonstrated experience with eLearning authoring tools, virtual / instructor-led training design, and LMS deployment / tracking.Solid understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design models, learning experience design principles, blended learning and performance support methodologies.Excellent stakeholder-management, communication (verbal & written), and project-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a professional services environment.Strong analytical mindset with ability to use data / feedback to drive learning effectiveness and continuous improvement.Travel to other PKFOD office locations as needed.Preferred :
Experience working in public accounting, or other professional services firm.Familiarity with regulatory, professional certification or continuing professional education (CPE) requirements (e.g., NASBA, AICPA or equivalent).Experience using or developing micro-learning, mobile learning, gamified modules, adaptive learning platforms, or other emerging learning technologies.Certification in instructional design or L&D or advanced degree in a relevant field.Why This Role Matters at PKF O’Connor Davies

Compensation & Benefits :
The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000-90,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications.
