Position Summary
: Represents the program to both internal and external constituencies with respect to program implementation and operational matters, and provides technical / professional and programmatic guidance, consultation, and support to client constituencies as appropriate.
The Southwest Center for Advancing Clinical and Translational Innovation (SW CACTI) is seeking a Community Engagement Liaison who is bilingual in English and Spanish, knowledgeable of NM rural and frontier communities, detail-oriented, & self-motivated. Applicants should feel comfortable speaking in public and representing the organization in a professional and approachable manner. The Community Engagement Liaison will serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary team conducting human subjects research.Work is performed under the general supervision of the Senior Community Engagement Liaison.The position requires travel, including some overnight stays throughout New Mexico and possibly Arizona, the promotion of scientific studies to a variety of audiences through creative communication styles, and flexibility to meet grant deliverables.
SW CACTI aims to remove barriers to translational science, accelerate clinical translational innovation, and advance health equity in the United States region. Duties and Responsibilities
1.Serves as a liaison with internal and external constituencies on all matters relating to program activities; represents the University with respect to program activities on a local, regional, and / or national basis.
2.Help investigators disseminate research findings in culturally appropriate contexts such as creating bilingual brochures, presentations, newsletters.
3.Develop and sustain partnerships and work closely with primary care clinics, health councils, CHW / Rs, health departments, and other health-related organizations.
4.Engage with new communities by reaching out to yet uninvolved interested / affected communities in New Mexico and possibly Arizona.
5.Provides day-to-day problem solving as necessary on day-to-day program-related needs and issues.
6.Creates, produces, and delivers a range of promotional, educational, and informational presentations, and / or resource materials related to program activities and initiatives to academic, state, & local communities, and various audiences.
7.Keeps track of program activity data; develops, writes, edits, and assists with reports as appropriate.
8.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
TERM APPOINTMENT; FUNDING AVAILABLE THROUGH 06 / 30 / 2026. CONTINUANCE BEYOND THAT DATE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF ADDITIONAL FUNDING.

Characteristics
This
position requires frequent travel around New Mexico and possibly Arizona,
including occasional overnight trips.
Candidates
should be comfortable with a highly interactive role that includes community
outreach, public speaking, and relationship building.
Weekend
and evening work is occasionally required for community events.
Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
