    • Summary

    The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for conducting neurovascular and other sonographic exams on patients under the direct orders of a physician. The Technician is accountable at all times for patient safety.

    Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for knowing Ultrasound Technician scope of practice and working within it, accountable at all times to an attending physician.
  • Prepares exam rooms and patients for ultrasound examinations; maintains ultrasound equipment and machinery; notifies supervisor immediately of equipment defects.
  • Prepares for the exam by performing an adequate time?out period, verifying that the procedure to be performed will be performed on the correct patient for the correct study.

    • Preferred Education and Experience

  • Vascular Ultrasound technician education or other related education either in progress or completed.
  • TCD experience preferred.
  • RVT preferred.
  • Healthcare experience required.

    • Special Conditions of Employment

  • Furnish proof of COVID?19 vaccination.

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers and payors.
  • The ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong commitment to actively supporting an ethical working environment.
  • Strong knowledge of computer?based systems such as Excel, Word, and the Internet with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
