National Recreation Systems, Inc. (NRS) is a leader in the manufacturing,

design, and innovation of Angle Frame Bleacher Systems. With over 30 years in the

industry, we have a proven track record of providing safe, inclusive, seating systems

that are constantly being made better by the people we employee.

As a key member of the Engineering team, the Design Drafter II, will develop

custom designed seating solutions to satisfy customer project requests. This position is

responsible for the creation of 3D models and 2D drawings to define layouts of various

systems, structures, and components. In this role a variety of design / detailing activities

will be performed, including, creation of project submittals, custom parts, production

drawings, and develop Bills of Material. A successful person in this role will be capable

of working on continuous improvement projects while managing the daily customer based

project demand. This individual will work closely with other members of the

Engineering team, while providing support for Sales, Production, Installers, and External

Customers.

Education and / or Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in structural or product design environment.

Associate degree in CADD preferred.

Proficient in 3D design software such as Inventor or SolidWorks. Working

knowledge of 2D drafting software a plus

Design / detailing experience in the structural steel or bleacher / grandstand

industry a plus.

Ability to read / interpret blueprints, customer drawings, and specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Participate in early concept work for new projects and recommend methods of

construction, fabrication, and assembly to minimize cost and maximize value.

2. Work with the Sales Team to provide solutions to customers and estimate

product costs.

3. Create basic to advanced submittal drawings using latest versions of 3D and 2D

design software. These submittal documents are often sealed by a Professional

Engineer and used for state and local permitting.

4. Create concept layouts, details, and design drawings with proficiency.

5. Produce 3D models and production-ready drawings for custom products required

for projects.

6. Develop bills of material to ensure the correct parts and quantities are provided

for production, shipping, and on-site installation.

7. Coordinate the completion and accuracy of installation drawing packets with

outside detailing firm.

8. Understand International Building Codes (IBC) and the Americans with

Disabilities ACT (ADA), and how these apply to bleacher / grandstand design.

Computer Skills

To perform the job successfully, an individual should be proficient in 3D design

software, have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and operational

knowledge of AutoCAD.

Other Requirements / Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts including geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to interact effectively and professionally with employees and customers.

Must be able to multitask, prioritize effectively, and strong sense of urgency.

Travel

The travel is approximately less than 5% of time. Some projects do require site visits.
