Construction Project Manager

Akkodis is seeking a Project Manager with a client in Oakbrook Terrace IL 60181 for 24 months contract.

Title : Project Manager- Utility Infrastructure

Location : Oakbrook Terrace IL 60181- Hybrid

Duration : 12-month Contract

Pay Rate : Pay Range : $60-$65 / hr on w2 (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Job Description :

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager with at least 3+ years of experience leading utility-related or civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing electric, gas, or water utility installations / relocations, or direct engineering experience supporting similar utility infrastructure projects. This role will oversee approximately 10 active projects and requires routine travel to various South Region locations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end project lifecycle for utility installation or relocation projects.

Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Review and evaluate contract proposals, bids, and vendor documentation for accuracy and compliance.

Prepare and maintain project financials, including monthly cash flows, budget forecasts, and expenditure tracking.

Monitor project progress, risks, and timelines; provide regular status updates to leadership.

Ensure all construction and installation activities adhere to safety, regulatory, and compliance standards.

Visit South Suburbs project sites several times per month to oversee field activities and resolve on-site issues.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of project management experience, preferably within utilities (Electric, Gas, or Water), civil construction, or engineering supporting utility projects.

Strong background in reviewing contract proposals / bids and managing external vendors.

Experience preparing and analyzing project financial documentation, including monthly cash flow reports.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects (expected workload : ~10 projects).

Excellent communication, stakeholder coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the South Suburbs region.

Bachelor’s degree required.
