Sterling Heights, MI hardscaping firm has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Field Operations Manager . If you want to create truly stunning and functional hardscape projects throughout Metro Detroit, this opportunity is for you!
The Field Operations Manager oversees all field operations including landscaping, hardscaping, and construction services. This role manages Project Managers, Team Leaders, and field crews to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Manager also assists with project bids and must have hands-on experience in landscape and hardscape construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, review, and discipline field team members
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality and alignment with company mission
- Lead safety compliance and weekly toolbox talks
- Develop and implement training to enhance team performance
- Forecast labor needs for seasonal workload
- Maintain direct costs and field overhead budgets
- Assist sales team in evaluating bids and project opportunities
- Plan daily and weekly schedules
- Allocate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
- Review blueprints and work orders; direct crews accordingly
- Ensure timely and accurate personnel paperwork
- Track job progress and costs; prepare reports
- Address client concerns and maintain communication
- Manage vehicle / equipment maintenance and DOT inspections
- Schedule repairs efficiently to minimize downtime
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of yard, shop, and office
Qualifications
