The Communications & Events Specialist executes internal and external communications, event coordination, and brand promotion. This role focuses on storytelling, digital engagement, and event production to enhance the school’s visibility and community impact.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and distribute internal monthly newsletters to keep staff and students informed.
- Create compelling stories featuring students, alumni, and staff to showcase the school’s impact.
- Manage and update social media content, ensuring alignment with the school's brand and mission.
- Collaborate with the design team on marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, and digital assets.
- Maintain and update the school’s website with engaging, user-friendly content.
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to align communications with school goals and student needs.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute graduation ceremonies and other key school events.
- Support outreach events to engage stakeholders, partners, and prospective students.
- Manage event logistics, including invitations, promotional materials, and on-site coordination.
- Oversee digital signage, ensuring timely updates and alignment with school events.
- Capture and maintain a digital library of photos and videos for communication use.
- Provide photography and videography support for school activities.
- Support enrollment campaigns through targeted communication materials.
- Assist in developing and executing marketing initiatives to increase student engagement.
- Contribute to strategic marketing and communications plans to support recruitment and awareness goals.
- Manage vendor relationship(s) and oversee advertising initiatives.
- Assess and report the ROI of advertising campaigns, optimizing effectiveness as needed.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration among team members to improve service delivery and student engagement.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, including, but not limited to, State Board of Education and local Board policy.
- Assist district and campus teams with outreach and engagement events throughout the school year (periodically at nights and on weekends).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.2 years’ experience in communications and / or marketing.Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and storytelling.Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) and website CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).Event planning experience with a track record of managing multiple priorities.Strong sense of professionalism, administrative ability, and effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for education and community impact.Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to communicate technical information to a wide range of end-users.Collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment.Ability to interview and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds with empathy and professionalism.Superior customer service skills, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks or crisis situations effectively.Ability to work independently yet promote and participate enthusiastically in organizational teams.Copywriting experience preferred.Photo and video editing skills preferred.Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, HubSpot, and WordPress preferred.Physical Requirements
