The process control engineer is responsible for maintenance of existing process control code, improvement of the existing code, and development of new process control code.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix DCS system and its programming.
• Troubleshooting and maintenance of the Allen Bradley Control Logix DCS system.
• Calibration, maintenance and repair of field smart instruments, control valves and analyzers.
• Develop preventive and scheduled maintenance program for control systems and field instruments.
• Familiar with different communication protocols like Ethernet TCP / IP, Modbus
• TCP, Modbus RTU, Control net, Device net etc.
• Demonstrated experience in hands-on support of operations, technical and maintenance work teams.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety in an operating plant environment.
• Application of area classifications and interlocks to protect plant safety and protect property damage.
• Familiar with current statutory regulations, industry standards and recommended practices.
• Develop and provide support for basic process control applications using application engineering skills such as point building, loop tuning and identification of process dynamics.
• Maintain and modify existing process control applications and operator interfaces.
• Identify and develop new control schemes to increase process safety, operability, and profitability.
• Provide process control support during project development, installation, and startup.
• Technology planning and development of engineering standards and work processes to ensure ROI on projects and maximize reliability and maintainability.
• Act as the technical lead for internal and / or external teams to implement process control related projects of varying size and complexity.
• Process automation expert in multiple areas / plants, particularly in problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Display an expert level of understanding of plant operations, maintenance, and engineering principles as they relate to the facility.
• Participate in PHA's, PSSR's, incident investigations and unit troubleshooting.
• Familiar with commercial aspects of control system upgrades and service contracts.
• Familiar with government agencies such as OSHA and familiarity with regulations at an intermediate level.
• Complete all safety and environmental training required.
• Display expert knowledge of process control principles and use them to assess / support area / plant automation performance.
