THE DEPARTMENT
The Seattle Department of Neighborhoods (DON) is responsible for strengthening Seattle by engaging all communities. Our purpose is to bring government closer to the residents of Seattle by engaging them in civic participation; empowering them to make positive contributions to their communities; and involving more of Seattles Black Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in civic discussions processes and opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
THE JOB
Are you a positive highly organized proactive and detail-oriented person Do you want to use your abilities to support your community by joining the Department of Neighborhoods as their Office Coordinator We are recruiting applicants who enjoy coordinating day-to-day operations activities and special this job you will have the opportunity to affect both productivity and our work environment.
Your primary focus will be on :
Public Disclosure
You will support all aspects of public disclosure requests which includes interpreting inquiries developing search strategies communicating with requestors and coordinating the collection of records from City systems databases and custodians. You will elevate any need for legal coordination or complex strategy to your supervisor.
Office Equipment Maintenance
You will oversee purchasing distribution tracking maintenance troubleshooting updates and check-out processes to ensure all devices and supplies are functional and available for staff use.
IT Liaison
You will coordinate with IT on department issues support product rollouts assist staff with equipment needs and report key updates to the Deputy Director.

Qualifications
In addition to the qualities mentioned above you will need to possess the following required qualifications (or a combination of education and / or training and / or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class) :
Three years of experience in administrative analysis budget administration or preparation office management personnel administration program administration as a staff assistant or in a closely related field
OR
Two years of experience in administrative analysis budget administration or preparation office management personnel administration program administration as a staff assistant or in a closely related field and an associates degree in business or public administration
OR
One year of experience in administrative analysis budget administration or preparation office management personnel administration program administration as a staff assistant or in a closely related field and a bachelors degree in business or public administration
Additional Information
This job is classified as an Administrative Staff Assistant and the salary range is $40.00 - $46.63. New City employees start at Step 1 in a 5-step salary schedule. Personnel Rules will determine the salary placement of current regular City employees.
This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Individual schedules will be based on agreement between the employee and management.
