Coder III Inpatient •remote •

Position Information :

The Coder III Inpatient is responsible for coding inpatient accounts with a balance of $90000 or higher and accounts with a balance between $15000 - $90000. Performs the functions of coding DRG assignment collection of predefined indicators and abstracting medical records with a case mix greater than 2.0. Provides timely and accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for reimbursement and specific information for statistical purposes. Remains current with recognized resources - AHA Coding Clinic and Official Coding Guidelines. Groups discharges utilizing the 3M encoder selecting the appropriate DRG for reimbursement. Communicates with physicians and clinical staff regarding coding and documentation issues. Supports and assists Coder II Inpatient with coding assigned claims.

Experience Requirements :

5 Years Coding - Inpatient Required - With High School Diploma Or 4 Years Coding - Inpatient Required - With Preferred Education

Licensure / Certification Requirements :

Registered Health Information Administrator Or Registered Health Information Technician Or Certified Coding Specialist Or Certified Professional Coder Required - And Certified Coding Specialist Or Certified Professional Coder Required - With High School Diploma
