GreenGate Fresh, LLLP (GGF) is seeking a seasoned Sr. Transportation Analyst to support financial and operational reporting and analysis associated to freight pricing and network optimization to achieve the right balance of cost and service to GGF’s customers.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Update existing reports and analyze financial and operational reporting on a daily / weekly basis to confirm data is accurate within GGF’s operating system.
  • Verify freight costs are accurately accounted for within GGF’s ERP system prior vendors invoicing GGF.
  • Work with IT to develop any new reports needed to support financial and operational analysis.
  • Support the new / existing customer freight pricing process by analyzing historical data and working with carrier partners to quote projected freight pricing for the customer’s outlined bid timeframe.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities to improve network optimization which may require adjusting delivery frequency, ship or delivery day schedules, or leveraging partnerships with other local shippers.
  • Administer GGF’s seasonal freight bid by compiling the lanes on the bid template, distribute to carriers, and collect rate submissions to support the determination of seasonal carrier freight awards.
  • Support freight rate negotiations with transportation providers to achieve competitive market rates.
  • Maintain knowledge of current market rates and market conditions.
  • Identify win-win opportunities to convert FOB customers to delivered sales or leverage GGF’s FOB customer network to support moving freight.
  • Support freight planning activities when needed. This would entail combining delivered orders into multi-stop truckloads while accounting for transit hours, customer receiving windows, and federal legal weight limitations for over the road, LTL, solo, or team modes to achieve on time delivery to customers.
  • Collaborate with Shipping and Production to schedule effective pick-up appointments that mitigate dwell time and detention costs to achieve on time service to GGF’s customers.
  • Collaborate with GGF’s legal team to support the contracting process of new / existing vendors.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and strong organization skills by consistently monitoring system and file retention accuracy daily.
  • Retrieve and update GGF’s system with confirmed delivery appointments from transportation providers.
  • Track and trace loads when needed. Proactively communicate with customers and GGF sales when trucks are running late for scheduled delivery times.
  • Support the freight claim investigation and determination process when there’s a customer rejection.
  • Support GGF with on call rotational after hours / weekend needs.
  • Collaborate with other local shippers on synergies to benefit GGF’s operational costs and service to customers.

Qualifications :

  • Must possess demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills with demonstrated capability to run reports, pivot data, and execute formulas.
  • Must possess a strong analytical aptitude to support financial and operational analysis that drives results.
  • Must display strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Must possess the ability to develop and maintain strong relations with key stakeholders.
  • Must possess the ability to thrive within a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Preferred candidate will have exposure or direct experience with operational problem-solving that achieves high levels of service to GGF’s internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA laws that apply to situational needs is a plus.
  • Experience interpreting refrigerated truck temperature downloads and documentation to determine if the evidence legally supports a freight claim is a plus.
  • Transportation planning experience is a plus.
  • Required to rotate weekend and after-hours remote support of GGF operations and transportation providers for a period of 7 days / nights every 3 weeks.
