I. Role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct client care and supports skilled nursing services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. CNAs help clients maintain dignity, health, and safety while reinforcing continuity of care within the home care setting.

II. Responsibilities

Deliver personal care assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility.

  • Support client health by measuring and recording vital signs, weight, and other observations as directed.
  • Encourage physical well-being through mobility assistance and range-of-motion exercises.
  • Contribute to client safety by promptly observing and reporting changes in condition to nursing staff.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment by assisting with housekeeping and meal preparation.
  • Strengthen client trust and comfort through companionship and clear communication.
  • Accurately document care provided to support continuity and quality assurance.

  • IV. Requirements

  • Current Georgia CNA certification in good standing.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing care practices, vital signs measurement, and safe client handling.

  • Ability to assist clients with physical care needs and mobility.
  • Reliable transportation for client visits.
