The Role :

The primary focus of this role is creating and providing opportunities for all full PGA Members to access relevant training and education which is reflective of the knowledge and skills demanded by the various roles that they undertake within the golf industry and overseeing the process of recognising, accrediting and recording the personal development of each PGA Member. The role includes :

  • Developing, delivering and maintaining PGA Learn platform, to enable PGA Members to engage in online learning opportunities and plan their own personal and career development.
  • Coordinating the delivery of an annual programme of personal development opportunities for all PGA Members.
  • Identifying potential relevant courses, qualifications and certifications relating to roles within the golf industry.
  • Negotiating the supply of relevant courses and qualifications (both face to face & online) from external providers, ensuring the maintenance of any service level agreements.
  • Overseeing the smooth delivery of all Member education events held at the PGA National Training Academy and online.
  • Liaising with other departments within the PGA to identify and coordinate further learning opportunities for PGA Members.
  • Liaising with other Development Managers / Officers at the relevant Home Unions and other Associations.
  • Researching and identifying relevant learning and developmental needs of all PGA Members.
  • Overseeing the process of recognising, accrediting and recording the personal development of each PGA Member.
  • Overseeing the daily operations linked to PGA-developed and PGA-managed qualifications, such as the PGA Director of Golf and ASQ (Level 5) Golf Club Management Qualifications.
  • Working with the PGA Media Department to grow awareness of the personal development opportunities available to PGA Members.
  • Promoting the benefits of personal development so it is at the forefront of all PGA Members’ minds.
  • Promoting all programmes and qualifications at events when required.

Role Requirements : Education / Qualifications / Key Competences / Personal Profile :

  • Experience in learning systems and procedures; arranging events;
  • Educated to degree or similar level or relevant proven experience;
  • Web design and build, evaluating teaching materials, knowledge of golf and the roles of Members

    Essential competencies include : communication and presentation skills, some knowledge and understanding of the structure and business of golf; Ability to motivate and delegate; Planning and Organising; Managing multiple projects to strict deadlines.

    Business-focused with strong people skills.
