Maxar Intelligence's Mission Control Infrastructure DevOps (MCID) Team is seeking an experienced Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administrator to join our team in Westminster, CO. In this position, you will use your experience to support our on-prem (development / test / production) Linux, Storage and virtualization infrastructure.
This is a hybrid role based in Westminster, CO, supporting mission-critical devices in our on-prem datacenters (Westminster and Longmont, CO), with an average of three-days in office / datacenter per week and as needed.
Your responsibilities will include working individually and with teams to :
Configure, deploy and administer Linux-based physical and virtual server environments (both production and non-production), including DNS and LDAP.
Provide modest-level of 24x7 on-call support of key systems
Ensure security compliance through regular patching and overall vulnerability management
Work with leadership in managing hardware lifecycle
Assist in installation of software development and engineering tools
Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting and projects as related to computing support
Produce and maintain configuration and maintenance documentation
Minimum Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain U.S. Government security clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related major, such as computer science, electronic engineering or computer engineering. Additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
Deep Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) knowledge, including install, configuration, patching and vulnerability management in both a physical and virtual environment
Experience with Dell PowerEdge server hardware
Experience with VMware vCenter and ESXi
Infrastructure-as-code experience, preferably Terraform, Ansible and Puppet
Interest in future growth in containerization, automation and public cloud
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Dell Precision / OptiPlex desktop hardware
Experience with both data center and cloud-based computing
Experience with Agile development practices
