Cost Analyst

Cost Analyst Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Cost Analystfor a company based in Sugar Land, Texas. Primarily be responsible for work with production team to maintain and review products’ standard costs in SAP, analyze cost variances monthly for management action, support financial audit and internal control activities, support accounting projects as needed. Pay Rate

33.00 - $38.00 an hour  Schedule and Hours

Monday through Friday 9 : 00 am to 6 : 00 pm  Cost Analyst Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform the cost-end closing on the 1st working day and prepare journal entries as necessary.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure complete cost components are included before closing.
• Review labor and overhead standard costs periodically and propose changes when necessary.
• Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare variance analysis reports for the management team monthly.
• Communicate with the production team to address cost issues or variances.
• Assist and lead in special projects as necessary including process improvements, efficiency recommendations and adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare monthly report packages to present to the management team.
• Prepare account analysis and reconcile accounts as required.
• Participate in Assets and inventory annual physical counts.
• Respond to requirements for internal and external audits in cost accounting and other audits
• Work on special projects as required. Cost Analyst Qualifications and Requirements
• Minimum Education Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Preferred Education Requirements : Master’s degree in accounting or MBA
• Minimum Experience Requirements : 5+ years working experiences in accounting or audit experiences
• Preferred Experience Requirements : 5+ years in cost accounting or 3-year auditor’s experience
• Software / Hardware Knowledge : SAP ERP and advanced Excel Skills
• Organized and strong analytical skill
