Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Associate will be responsible for supporting the Accounting Department and processing invoices for payment. This role will interact with other Accounts Payable Staff as well as Plant Personnel, Purchasing, Accounting, Credit, and Transportation staff.

Responsibilities :

• Review emails, print invoices, respond to all requests.
• Key vouchers for payment - standard and voucher match.
• Keep invoice hold log up to date and communicate with site personnel on status of approval / receipt into JD Edwards.
• Make sure that vendor information is up to date in JD Edwards. Fill out form to request new vendor setup as needed.
• Review vendor statements and communicate with vendors for requests for invoices.
• Respond to vendor requests for payment status or any other information needed by vendors.
• Keep in contact with site locations to maintain relationships for timely processing of invoices and issue resolutions.
• Scan paid invoice batches into AP file folders.
• Assist with preparation of month end accruals.
• Execute a weekly payment run : check, ACH, and wires.
• Keep track of credits owed to the company and ensure all credits are properly applied to vendor payments.
• Reconcile payable reports each month to confirm that all amounts paid were accurate.
• Monitor all vendor payment agreements to find discounts that can be used to reduce invoice amounts.
• Reconcile vendor statements.
• Special projects as requested.
