Main responsibilities : The incumbent will join the team of attorneys, paralegals and staff responsible for supporting the company’s Retail Media Network, the Albertsons Media Collective. The successful candidate will be responsible for counseling the company on legal risk and collaborating with working teams and US Media companies on optimal Media solutions. Support the marketing, experiential, and agency / tech partner verticals within the Albertsons Media Collective. Enhance efficiency and speed to market, by focusing on risk mitigation strategies using processes, controls, templates and SOPs. Use your negotiation skills to advise on, review, draft, and negotiate agreements in support of marketing engagements and third-party partnerships. Provide product counseling related to any new AdTech products and services to be launched by the business. Balance speed with risk to enable safe, fast, testing / piloting that informs long term roadmaps. Be the trusted advisor who responds promptly to complex legal requests, coordinating with the rest of the legal team to deliver practical, timely, and high-quality advice. Use your problem-solving skills to identify and assess business and legal risks, finding innovative ways to mitigate them while achieving product and business goals. Effectively communicate complex issues and risks to business leaders, in an easy to understand and succinct manner. In coordination with Privacy law team, provide advice and counsel on privacy issues related to customer data. Develop and leverage strong relationships and internal partnerships across Retail Operations, Marketing, Merchandising and Privacy organizations to maximize the achievement of business goals. Qualifications
What you’ll bring : A minimum of 7+ years, ideally with marketing, media, AdTech and / or technology experience. Significant experience drafting and negotiating commercial and transactional agreements. Deep understanding of privacy laws. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Product counseling experience. Demonstrated ability to work practically and quickly to evaluate risk, solve problems, and make decisions that balance risk, opportunity, and business objectives. [Hiring team to provide specific responsibilities here.] We are looking for candidates who possess the following : Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school Membership in good standing in a state Bar that enables admission to practice as in-house counsel 7 plus years relevant experience with a top-tier law firm or in-house. In-house experience strongly preferred Experience supporting a retail media business. Experience counseling business clients on a wide variety of legal risk issues Excellent analytical, strategic, legal research, writing, negotiation and advocacy skills Prior in-house legal experience is strongly preferred.
