Housekeeping Supervisor

The HYATT PLACE MILFORD / NEW HAVEN is presently accepting applications for Housekeeping Supervisor / Head Housekeeper. The position is available for hire immediately.

Responsibilities :

• Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
• Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
• Coordinates work activities among departments.
• Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
• Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
• Evaluates records to forecast department personnel requirements.
• Prepares weekly housekeeping schedule.
• Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
• Examines building to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to management.
• Issues supplies and equipment to workers.
• Advises manager, Front Office of rooms ready for occupancy.
• Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.

Requirements :

1 year or more of housekeeping experience.

Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English.

Being bilingual and speaking Spanish & English is a plus.

Must have knowledge of using a computer.

Must be flexible & able to work weekends, weekdays, or holidays as needed by management.

Must have excellent organizational skills.

Must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America.

Candidates without any hotel housekeeping experience will not be considered.
