Work Shift : Day

Scheduled Weekly Hours : 40

Summary : The Director Advancement builds awareness and support from all constituent bodies and programs, including development, grateful patient, and hospital service lines to achieve philanthropic support. This position has responsibility for a portfolio of donors.

Job Description

Job Duties

  • Identifies, cultivates, and solicits donor prospects in support of Mercy's annual, major, planned, capital, and special fundraising campaigns.
  • Works within the annual giving, major giving, campaign giving, planned giving, and Grateful Patient programs which will require developing relationships with Mercy Medical Center staff.
  • Manages a portfolio of major and planned gift donors / prospects.
  • Recommends goals and budget for programs this position uses.
  • Helps strengthen the awareness of the Mercy Medical Center Foundation by volunteering, serving on committees and / or boards within the hospital and the community.
  • Co-leads the process of determining the acceptance of in-kind gifts to Mercy.
  • Serves as the liaison for a specific department(s) if assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents, and injuries.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal communication skills, especially with older adults.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Understanding and appreciation for the mission of Mercy Medical Center and the Mercy Medical Center Foundation.
  • Exceptional listening skills.
  • Microsoft Office skills and experience with Raisers' Edge.
  • Professional Experience

  • Five years of formal fundraising experience-preferred.
  • Education

  • Bachelor's Degree - Required.
  • Master's Degree - Preferred.
  • Licensure, Certification, Registration

  • CFRE or other certification preferred.
  • Pay Rate Type Salary
