Senior Associate / VP, Business Development - Private Equity Firm
Job Overview
Our client is a multi-strategy private equity firm based in Dallas, TX. Our Client is seeking to hire a Senior Associate or Vice President (DOE) of Business Development to join a dynamic sourcing team and become a leading contributor towards their sourcing model. This hire will play a critical role in managing and expanding a network of intermediaries and identifying investment opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated successful track record of new investment opportunity origination, ability to work collaboratively and drive results through a data‑driven approach. The role will be based in Dallas, Texas. Occasional travel is required.
Role Responsibilities
- Build and implement a comprehensive coverage strategy across deal sources and advisors via cultivating strong relationships with sources of deal flow within the intermediary network (including investment banks, advisory firms, attorneys, CPAs, PE firms, etc.)
- Source and build a robust pipeline of potential investment opportunities that align with the Firm's investment objectives and core strategies.
- Collaborate with the investment team to ensure effective coordination of outreach efforts as well as a seamless transition of opportunities to the investment team for evaluation and execution.
- Utilize data to create, organize, and prioritize target lists, identify areas of opportunity for sourcing deals, strengthen relationships, and advocate for the Firm's objectives with deal sources.
- Maintain and develop relationships with the buyside broker community.
- Create thematic driven investment theses to identify and vet new potential investments.
- Coordinate and schedule sourcing trip meetings and conference activities for team sourcing efforts.
- Build relationship networks to gain access to decision makers and key industry contacts.
- Leverage research to prepare for meetings to thoughtfully engage with senior executives and a wide range of intermediaries.
Required Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
5+ years of relevant professional experience.Proven track record of deal sourcing and origination.Exceptional relationship building and networking skills.Strategic and collaborative approach coupled with strong data analytical skills.Strong work ethic, detail- and action-oriented with a continuous improvement mentality.Excellent communication skills, motivated to contribute and grow in a dynamic environment.Well organized with outstanding project management skills, including ability to prioritize and manage conflicting tasks and deadlines.Ability to flourish and navigate in a rapidly changing organization and operate comfortably with ambiguity and complexity.Self-motivated with a problem-solver and ownership mentality.Reliable, honest, and ethical.Seniority level : Associate
