Job Purpose :
The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for providing Helpdesk / Desktop Support services in a large corporate business environment blending on-site and remote associates. The position requires an onsite technician to image / prep equipment for shipment, process / log receivables, and troubleshooting of problems with corporate issued computer equipment and peripherals. Requires advanced research and troubleshooting of complicated technical problems.
Essential Duties
Supports and maintains the enterprise end user computing platforms ensuring high performance and reliabilityPerform MACs (moves, adds, and changes)Process receivables and shipments of computer hardwareImage / re-image computers to distribute to associatesAdvanced research and troubleshooting of workstation related problems to determine root cause and implement permanent solutionsDeploy and patch desktop systems using Microsoft Intune and KACEInterface with customers via phone, e-mail, chat, and in-person on system issuesAssist with connectivity of office equipment and supporting softwareInterface with vendors for support and ordering as necessaryOccasional evening and weekend work in response to needs of the business and systems supportedDocument solutions to command issues and share with othersProvide support and backup to Desktop LeadOccasional evening and weekend work in response to needs of the business and systems supportedPerform other related duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be able to work unsupervised, be a self-starter, well organized, and exercise independent judgment.Strong hardware / software troubleshooting, and network diagnostic skills are essentialMust have the ability to communicate how technology works and why systems / software are beneficial to all levels of the organizationMust have intermediate networking (WiFi, LAN / WAN) and advanced problem-solving skillsMust be experienced with remote support tools such as Microsoft Teams and BomgarFamiliar with Azure Active Directory and how to view user data and logsAbility to remain calm in a high-pressure atmosphereAbility to plan and deliver projects using leading-edge technologyMust have a great customer support attitude, great interpersonal skills, be a quick learner and embrace changeAbility to manage multiple challenging projects with various priority levels and timelinesWorks well within a cross departmental team environment.Must be dependable and punctualMinimum Qualifications
High School diploma or G.E.D.1+ years of experience to include : Desktop services, installation, configuration / provisioning and troubleshooting of hardware and software MS Windows 10 / 11 and common enterprise class applications such as Outlook 365 and Teams VPN, basic networking support, iPhone / Android setup for email, and desktop troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows 10 / 11 and O365 Active Directory Remote desktop support tools such as BomgarEndpoint systems management tools such as KACE and Microsoft IntunePreferred Qualifications
Experience with ticket tracking software such as ServiceNow or IvantiIndustry standard certifications a plus : CompTIA, MCSE, MTA, Microsoft 365, etc.Physical Requirements
