Welding Fabrication Assistant - 1st Shift (6 : 30am-3pm)

Pridestaff is currently seeking a  Welding Fabrication Assistant  for a steel manufacturing company located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This is a full-time, contract to permanent position with opportunity to grow. Please see job requirements below to be considered.

Pay Rate : $20 - $21

Shift : Monday – Friday, 6 : 30am to 3pm    Job Duties :   The Fabrication Assistant is responsible for assisting the Welding Foreman in various tasks such as, grinding, cutting material, drilling, and bending material. Will be cross-trained, and must be flexible to perform other job duties as assigned.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Grind, Bend, Drill, and Cut Material

Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.

Ability to work with quality inspection tools including micrometer and calipers and perform basic dimensional tolerances.

Monitor machine operation for continued accuracy throughout cutting processes.

Continually measure work piece dimensions to assure constant specification accuracy throughout machine operation.

Prioritize workload to meet customer requirements and company performance goals.

Will be cross-trained on various processes.

Adhere to all safety requirements

Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications :

A high school diploma or GED required

Metal manufacturing experience required (presses, rollers, band-saws, shears, etc.)

Possesses detailed knowledge of the shop industry

Must be able to read a tape measure

Works well with a team

Demonstrates awareness of all health and safety protocols

Manages time efficiently

Able to multi-task effectively

Pays attention to detail

Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work outside yard to load and unload when needed.

Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Must have and wear steel toe shoes or boots or composite shoes throughout shift as well as assigned PPE (Ear plugs, safety glasses, etc.)
