IT Security Analyst
Location : Downtown Tampa, FL

Work Schedule : On-site position | Standard business hours; may require nights, weekends, or holiday support in emergencies
Overview
We are seeking an IT Security Analyst to support the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of sensitive employee, business, and system information. This role ensures compliance with security policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, while also monitoring, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in security controls, networking, and compliance frameworks, paired with the ability to work effectively across IT and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform gap analyses between policies / standards / regulations and current practices; recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in documenting and managing processes and tools to support compliance with CJIS, NIST CSF, SOC, and related frameworks.
- Analyze threat and vulnerability feeds and identify applicability to the organization.
- Support the organization during incidents or breaches and assist in response efforts.
- Produce vulnerability, configuration, and coverage metrics to measure remediation effectiveness.
- Review and report on system logs, alerts, and notifications.
- Validate that all systems receive security patches and updates in a timely manner.
- Monitor and generate alerts from cybersecurity intelligence sources.
- Assist with maintaining an application meta-data inventory, data flow documentation, and vendor security information.
- Promote security awareness activities across the organization.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge of networking, database design, and data flow design.Familiarity with security standards and policies, especially CJIS, NIST, and industry regulations.Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, threats, and terminology.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and task management skills.Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills.Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Minimum Education & Experience
Option 1
High school diploma or GED.5 years of experience in administering security controls and in networking, database design, programming / scripting, or server administration.Option 2
Associate degree in a technical field.4 years of experience in administering security controls and in networking, database design, programming / scripting, or server administration.Option 3
