The Workday Functional Lead (Compensation) Software Engineer III responsible for designing configuring implementing and maintaining Workday modules to meet Human Capital Systems business needs. This role partners with HR IT and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional Workday solutions ensuring quality compliance efficiency and scalability.

This is a full-time onsite position (5 days per week) based in Atlanta GA; Charlotte NC; Raleigh NC; Richmond VA; Dallas TX or Greensboro NC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed both major and minor which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

Serve as the primary point of contact for Workday configuration for specific Workday modules. (Compensation and Performance)

Design configure test and deploy Workday configuration changes.

Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and processes.

Partner with HR and business teams to gather requirements and design solutions.

Identify and drive quality and efficiency improvement opportunities.

Troubleshoot and resolve Workday configuration-related issues.

Ensure that all changes comply with technology policies and requirements.

Identify escalate and remediate risks and comply will risk management standards.

Manage and implement Workday configuration changes ensuring compliance with established policies and governance frameworks.

Partner with business and technology teams to evaluate project requirements and determine appropriate Workday modifications.

Support ongoing operations by troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.

Collaborate with Workday functional and technical teams to ensure seamless integration of changes across modules and functions.

Participate in audits control reviews and risk assessments related to assigned functional area.

Provide guidance and best practices to business partners.

Bachelors Degree and three to five years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience

In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify apply and implement best practices

Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function

Ability to plan and manage projects and solve complex problems by applying best practices

Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and convey complex difficult or sensitive information.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Effective time management and prioritization.

Preferred Qualifications :

Broader understanding of Workday functional areas (e.g. HCM Payroll Finance) to better align security with business needs.

Prior experience in a regulated or financial services environment.

Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and implement best practices in security management

5 years of hands-on Workday experience.

Strong understanding of Workday business processes for assigned functional area.

Familiarity with compliance and audit processes preferably within a financial institution.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively with multiple business units and technical teams.
