Library Assistant Lansing Branches (South Lansing, Foster and Downtown)

Part time, 20 hours per week. Includes evenings and weekends.

Capital Area District Libraries (CADL) provides library services to our communities seven days a week. All positions, except those in Administrative Offices, require some evening and weekend hours, including Sundays. This position is currently assigned at the above location, but CADL reserves the right to assign employees to any CADL location.

16.73 per hour

Nature of Work

Under the supervision of the Head Librarian, exercise various library skills, providing patrons with technical assistance in library operations and materials use. Perform reference and circulation desk duties, assist patrons with questions using print and computer resources, prepare displays, and assist in developing library programs. May be responsible for specific segments of library service, specializing in designated areas.

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

Experience working in a public library is preferred.
