Job Title : Registered Nurse or Licensed Pracitical Nurse
Reports to : Director of Nursing
Sign-on / Retention Bonus - up to $4,000
Pay Range (depending on experience) :
LPN : $33.00 - $39.444 / hr ($.50 - $5.00 Shift Differentials)
RN : $40.00 - $48.62 / hr ($.50 - $5.00 Shift Differentials)
RN, BSN : $42.00 - $50.62 / hr ($.50 - $5.00 Shift Differentials)
Position Summary :
The RN or LPN is responsible for the supervision of direct and indirect care through utilization of the Nursing process in accordance with the Department philosophy, policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and standards of professional nursing practice.
Essential Qualifications
Educational : Graduate of accredited RN or LPN program
Licensure : Current Massachusetts RN or LPN license
Skills : Ventilator Nurse will maintain Ventilator Certification
Excellent physical assessment and interpersonal skills
Strong communication skills in the English language
Demonstrates Clinical skills Competency
Ability to maintain assigned work hours
Has sufficient endurance to perform tasks over a long period of time
Ability to perform essential job functions
Essential Functions :
- Initiates and implements patient care plan
- Accurately and promptly implements physicians orders
- Administers medications and intravenous solutions as stated in facility policy
- Continually assesses individual patient needs and develops individualized resident care plans
- Completes the admission assessment reflective of physiological, functional and psychosocial status with 24 hours of a patient’s admission
- Takes and gives shift reports
- Assists with the completion of M.D.S. and Resident Care Plans as required
- Completes monthly summaries as assigned
- Reviews nursing assistant flow sheets for accuracy
- Assists in the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents as necessary
- Performs patient and family teaching as necessary
- Supports and enforces infection control and safety policies and procedures
- Participates in orientation and in-serving training for personnel
- Assists in reviewing and revising policies and procedures as required
- Participates in evaluations and discipline of subordinate staff
- Must be able to demonstrate compliance with OSHA, DPH, and JCAHO guidelines
- Knowledge of and participation in the nursing QA plan
- Participates on facility committees as assigned
- Ensures Resident Rights are promulgated and enforced
- Promotes positive customer service to our Residents and their families and the communities we serve
- May act as Charge Nurse. In this role a nurse will contact physicians, handle staffing issues, communicate unit issues to next shift, and perform other tasks as needed
- On Call requirement as designated by DON as needed.
