Medical Biller / Coding Specialist
Location : Oakland, CA
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 9 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM
Salary : $55,000 – $65,000 annually, depending on experience
Position Summary :
We are hiring Medical Billers and Coding Specialists to support a busy healthcare practice in Oakland, CA. This role is responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, preparing and submitting claims, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance payers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review medical records to assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Prepare, submit, and follow up on insurance claims to ensure prompt payment
- Resolve claim denials and discrepancies by communicating with payers and providers
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations when required
- Maintain detailed billing records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer guidelines
- Assist with patient billing questions and support front office staff as needed
