About The Role
Wildsam is seeking a Digital Editor to lead the editorial voice of our digital platforms, including Wildsam.com, email newsletters, and social media. As a key member of our editorial team, this role blends storytelling expertise with digital savvy to deepen our connection with readers and guide the evolution of our digital presence.
You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how our trusted American travel brand shows up online, collaborating across teams to develop and deliver compelling content that reflects Wildsam’s mission : to introduce curious travelers to the most authentic, inspiring experiences across the U.S.
This is a unique opportunity to help steer a beloved editorial print-first brand through exciting digital growth. You’ll work closely with the Editor-in-Chief, senior editorial staff, and cross-functional partners in business, sales, and operations.
What You’ll Do
Digital Editorial Leadership
- Lead editorial planning and publishing for Wildsam.com
- Own the digital editorial calendar : in collaboration with the EIC and other editors, plan, assign, and track stories in alignment with overall brand and business goals
- Run regular story development meetings and contribute to long-term content strategy
- Monitor key performance metrics, providing insights and strategic recommendations to drive impact across engagement and brand growth
Writing & Editing
Write and edit content across Wildsam.com and additional digital channelsPitch and commission original stories that reflect Wildsam’s editorial vision and support strategic objectivesMaintain editorial quality, voice, and consistency across all digital platformsCollaborate with print and magazine editors on cross-channel storytellingSite & Content Production
Manage CMS and oversee day-to-day publishing workflows for Wildsam.comRegularly refresh and curate the homepage and key landing pagesCollaborate with the Sales team on branded content productionPartner with Operations to identify and address technical issues affecting content performanceEmail & Social Strategy
Help define and execute newsletter and social media strategiesEnsure content aligns with brand tone and deepens audience engagementWork cross-functionally to align messaging, promotions, and audience development goalsQualifications
Required :
3+ years of experience in digital editorial, preferably in travel, lifestyle, or culture mediaExceptional writing and editing skills with a strong editorial voice and attention to detailExperience managing editorial calendars, content planning, and publishing schedulesProficiency with a CMS (e.g., WordPress or similar) and digital publishing workflowsFamiliarity with SEO principles and how to apply them to digital contentAbility to interpret content performance data (Google Analytics, etc.) to inform strategyStrong organizational and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlinesComfortable collaborating cross-functionally with editorial, design, sales, and operations teamsPreferred
Experience commissioning and working with freelance writers or contributorsKnowledge of email marketing tools and strategy (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo, etc.)Working knowledge of social media platforms as editorial and audience engagement toolsFamiliarity with sponsored / branded content production and client-facing collaborationPassion for American travel, culture, road trips, and storytelling rooted in placeVisual literacy or experience working with photography / video teams a plusWhy apply?

66,500.00-$97,000.00 Annual
