Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is hiring for a full-time position with a salary that is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. The job is located in FL, USA, specifically within the Brevard County Housing and Human Services Department. The position is open until filled and is funded by an appointive service / grant. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. in Viera / Government Center. The role involves administering and coordinating contracts and agreements for professional and other services, grants, and other procurement-related agreements.
Requirements for the position include a bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Management, Social Work, Legal Studies, or a closely related field, along with two years of progressively responsible professional experience in administering or managing program or project contracts. Additional qualifying education and / or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Preferred experience includes local government contract management and managing and monitoring contracts for public services programs and / or affordable housing projects for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and / or HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), and / or State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP), and / or Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) grant programs. A Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) certification is also preferred.
Special requirements include submitting a minimum of a two-page writing sample that demonstrates the ability to create professional correspondence and communicate important information, completed within the past two years. Applicants must also possess, or obtain, a valid Florida driver's license prior to employment and maintain it during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
