Location : Phoenix, Arizona (Hybrid) Must be local

Salary : $85,000–$100,000 / year + annual performance bonus

Role Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing U.S. engineering team. You will be responsible for designing and developing rugged, high-performance automotive components, with a focus on manufacturability, precision, and durability. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and expand domestic engineering capabilities.
Responsibilities
Lead full-cycle mechanical design using SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, assembly, and technical documentation.
Develop innovative and functional designs for automotive accessories and off-road components such as skid plates, bumpers, and step systems.
Create and refine sheet metal parts (folding, stamping, forming).
Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to optimize production feasibility, cost, and efficiency.
Collaborate across R&D, production, and sales teams to align design intent with real-world manufacturing and application needs.
Ensure designs meet stringent quality and performance standards.
Manage projects, including schedules, budgets, and subcontractor coordination.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 3 years of mechanical design experience in the automotive industry.
Minimum 3 years of SolidWorks proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing automotive accessories or off-road vehicle components.
Expertise in sheet metal design, particularly stamping and forming.
Strong background in Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
Experience with 3D scanning and modeling (e.g., scanning a vehicle and building accurate SolidWorks models to design products on top of it).
Familiarity with durability requirements and rugged use cases in automotive applications.
