AS400 Developer

Part Time Contract

Title or Role : AS400 Developer

Compensation : up to $65 / hourly commensurate with experience

Location : 100% Remote

Length of Contract : 6 months +

Position Description :

The AS400 Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications and databases in the client's AS400 Environment. This role requires strong technical skills, the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to best practices in software development.

Responsibilities :

• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications on the IBM i (AS400) platform using RPG, CL, and SQL.
• Work on application modernization projects, including API integration (REST / SOAP).
• Design and optimize DB2 for i (AS400) databases, including indexing, query optimization, and stored procedures.
• Develop and integrate web services (REST APIs, JSON, XML) for interoperability with modern applications.
• Utilize IBM i Web Services to extend AS400 functionalities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend and backend developers.
