ENGAGEMENT & OUTREACH ASSOCIATE - THE HUAKAI PROJECTPOSITION SUMMARYThe Engagement & Outreach Associate plays a key role in advancing the mission of The Huakai Project by developing relationships with parishes, promoting the program across the Diocese of Honolulu, and assisting in the recruitment and retention of young adult small group hosts and participants. Working in collaboration with EPIC Ministry leadership and the Diocesan Office of Evangelization and Catechesis, the Outreach Associate serves as the primary connector between the program and parish communities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPARTNER ENGAGEMENT & RECRUITMENTBuild and maintain relationships with parish leaders and ministry coordinators across the diocese.Schedule and conduct parish visits, presentations, and information sessions.Coordinate opportunities for tabling or speaking after Masses and at parish events.Support the promotion of Host Recruitment and Participant Registration periods for each season.Follow up with parish contacts to confirm participation, provide updates, and gather feedback.PROMOTION & COMMUNICATIONSDevelop and manage outreach campaigns through digital and print media (social media, flyers, parish bulletins, etc.).Work closely with EPICs communications team to ensure consistent branding and messaging.Create and maintain an active presence at diocesan and young adult gatherings.PROGRAM SUPPORTAssist with planning and executing orientation nights, training events, and end-of-season celebrations.Track outreach and communication activity using shared spreadsheets or project management tools.Provide occasional on-site support during major events as needed (evenings / weekends possible).QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSREQUIREDAlignment with mission and values of EPIC Ministry and the Diocese of HonoluluStrong interpersonal and communication skillsOrganized and able to manage multiple parish contacts simultaneouslyComfortable making outreach calls, writing professional emails, and presenting publiclySelf-starter who works well independently and collaborativelyReliable transportation and flexibility for weekend or evening parish visitsPREFERREDFamiliarity with Catholic parish life or ministry settingsExperience in outreach, communications, or community engagementBasic proficiency in digital communication tools (Google Workspace, Canva, social media platforms)SCHEDULE & LOCATIONApproximately 1015 hours per weekFlexible schedule with some evening and weekend outreach requiredHybrid role : combination of remote work and in-person parish visits (primarily on Oahu, with potential neighbor island travel)Salary commensurate with experience, with opportunities for growth in the organization.
