Psychologist

Responsibilities

I. Screening and prioritizing of psychological referrals

• Consults and collaborates with school personnel and / or parents (e.g., school resource group meetings, team meetings, pod meetings).
• Conducts direct classroom observation of students.
• Gathers pertinent information from other disciplines.
• Identifies needs of children and / or school communities.

VI. Develops and maintains a high level of knowledge and awareness of the current theory and practice related to meeting the learning and behaviour needs of exceptional learners.

VII. Works collaboratively with other School Support Services staff as well as Area staff to provide a comprehensive service to students with exceptional needs.

VIII. Performs other related responsibilities as required.
