POSITION TITLE : Assistant Controller
REPORTS TO : VP of Finance
DEPARTMENT : Accounting
Position Summary :
The Assistant Controller supports the VP of Finance in overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role manages key accounting functions, assists with budgeting and forecasting, and drives process improvements to enhance efficiency. The Assistant Controller also provides leadership to the accounting team and contributes to strategic financial decision-making.
Responsibilities :
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Oversee general ledger reconciliations and manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to aid in strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax reporting functions.
- Coordinate with external auditors by preparing required documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
- Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and financial transactions to ensure financial stability.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Assist in acquisition due diligence and integration
- Provide mentorship and leadership to accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Assist the VP of Finance with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience :
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Experience with accounting software and ERP systems preferred.Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.Seven or more years of accounting experience, with at least three years in a leadership or supervisory role.Experience in mergers & acquisitionsOther Details :
