Job Description :

We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Category Analyst to join our team in Portland, OR The successful candidate will play a key role in driving category growth and enhancing business performance through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of market trends and consumer behavior.

Key Responsibilities :

Analyze market data and consumer trends to identify growth opportunities within assigned categories.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and supply chain, to develop and implement category strategies.
Monitor and evaluate category performance, providing actionable insights to optimize assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for internal stakeholders to communicate findings and recommendations.
Conduct competitive analysis to benchmark category performance against industry standards.
Support product development and innovation initiatives by providing market and consumer insights.

Skills and Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field.

Proven experience in category management

Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Advanced Excel, Nielsen / Circana, Numerator.)

Excellent communication and presentation skills to external customers

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Familiarity with retail and consumer goods industry trends.

Preferred Qualifications :

Master's degree in a relevant field.

Experience with category management software.

Knowledge of the West Coast market.
