Torch Technologies has an immediate opening for a Lead Software Engineer to develop applications and simulation infrastructure for the US Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC).

As a Lead Software Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to :

• Provide Technical leadership of a small team that will write code related to Army defense systems, multi-processor optimization coding practices, as well as verification testing in a fast-paced environment.
• This position will be 80% technical contributions and 20% direction of junior engineers / developers to include clarifying objectives, monitoring progress, code reviews, and mentoring of best practices.
• Execute existing models, design and develop new models, create unit tests, set up execution environments, and control job flow for parallel processing.
• Must be able to work independently day-to-day towards team-established milestones with consensus from lab leadership.
• Drive development on a tight schedule, making informed decisions on priorities.
• Take a proactive role on the team to ensure all developers are appropriately tasked and on schedule.
• Work with lab leadership when problems arise so additional resources or guidance can be provided.
• Less than 10% travel to support test integration events, as needed.
