We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our team supporting our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client.
This position is remote and requires an MBI clearance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain effective processes for managing requirements, developing business processes, and providing production support to the operation.
- Lead and implement the design, analysis, interpretation and evaluation of a variety of reports, internal / external resource documents and surveys.
- Lead and own activities related to Business Requirement Documents process.
- Analyze existing systems, programs, policies, and organizational processes and recommend enhancements and improved solutions.
- Design and implement process improvements that enhance customer service and optimize business operational efficiency and quality.
- Conduct statistical analyses and evaluates a wide variety of information to assess operational difficulties and develop solutions to complex problems, including escalated issues Independently develop and implement modeling and evaluation processes to determine the effectiveness of current operational activities.
- Provide oversight and perform research and gap analysis to determine and improve effectiveness of all operational documentation.
- Serve as a liaison between business ops and system team for the planning, implementation and maintenance of programs and contractual changes.
- Communicate status, risks, and issues to the Systems Analysis and Design Director, senior management and / or the client, as appropriate.
- Monitor BA activities with the Systems Analysis and Design Director to ensure that all business analysis activities are allocated appropriately and executed as planned.
- Ensure all business requirements and business processes are adequately documented.
- Lead cooperative efforts among members of a project team.
- Manage efficient execution of business meetings with internal project staff, client staff, and / or project vendors.
- Act as advisor to project team members to resolve problems.
- Provide support to operation senior staff, division managers and program managers.
- Develop high quality communications suitable for clients.
- Work effectively with internal and external business partners in the delivery of solutions.
- Maintain extensive and comprehensive working knowledge of all assigned programs and projects.
Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Coordinate and engage with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct analysis, validate requirements, produce proof of concept, concept of operations, user stories, diagrams, process flows, and other outputs.Provide governance support and reporting activities to include coordination of data calls, tracking of tasks and milestones, and communicate status of projects and activities.Create, update, and manage high-quality project documentation that meets IRS acceptance criteria, acquisition strategies, use cases, or executive briefings.Create and review reports.
Develop briefings, presentations, and reports to stakeholder groups and executive audiencesDevelop and maintain project schedules to allow tracking of performance activities requiredWork with teams dispersed across geographical sitesFoster collaboration and communication between team members on technical issues, on process improvements, and in addressing and escalating project risks and issuesDocument, manage, and report project risks according to IRS Risk Management processSupport and participate in release planning sessions.Monitor multiple release schedules and support product managers in ensuring critical actions and milestones are completed.Track and monitor complex risks and dependencies across the organization that might impact the successful delivery of multiple projects, including change requests.Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with all IRS security requirementsProvide status reports, attend meetings and take / distribute minutesMinimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related field required.Minimum of 7 years of related professional experience required.Job-Specific Minimum Requirements :
Proven ability to work on and with many development teams that are dispersed across geographical sites.Experience using online communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom).
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience considered in lieu of degree.Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with a bachelor's degree.Minimum seven (7) years of working experience working in a project management capacityKnowledge of federal information security policies, standards, procedures, directives, and risk management processes.Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active IRS Moderate Risk MBI is a plus).Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for at least three (3) years, and Federal Tax compliantPreferred Skills and Qualifications :

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment.
Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package.

Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
