Travel Nurse RN - Med / Surg / Telemetry - $2,122 per week in Salina, KS

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum of 2 years required License : Valid State License required at time of submission Certifications : BLS required, NIHSS preferred Must-Have : - Meditech experience required - Travel experience required - Floating to other units as needed Description : Experience with telemetry monitoring is necessary. Candidates must have expertise in gastrointestinal, genitourinary / renal, and IV therapy / phlebotomy. Knowledge of medication management, including Heparin and Insulin, is required. Candidates should be experienced in neurological care, particularly stroke and substance withdrawal patients. Experience with respiratory care, including chest tube management and CPAP / BiPAP, is essential. Wound care experience is required, including the use of wound vacs. Knowledge of isolation precautions is necessary. Must be prepared to float to other medical surgical units or emergency departments / intensive care units as needed. Expect to work every other weekend. Patient ratios are typically 6 : 1. Experience in a patient care setting with a focus on interdisciplinary support is needed. Knowledge of a range of patient diagnoses, including pneumonia, alcohol withdrawal, oncology, renal disease, and chronic conditions, is required. The unit has a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
