PAY RANGE : $51, 268 – 64,085

POSITION SUMMARY :

We are seeking a Training Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, presenting, and evaluating training materials and courses for employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Conduct new hire orientation sessions for production employees every Friday and on an as-needed basis.
• Facilitate engaging, informative safety training sessions for new and existing ship repair employees across various trades / crafts.
• Ensure all safety training materials and programs comply with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
• Collaborate with production training manager and production managers to assess specific training needs and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of all training activities, certifications, and employee progress.
• Create and update training materials, including presentations, handouts, test questionnaire, etc.
• Travel between Portland and Seattle to facilitate training sessions on an as-needed basis (~5%).
• Modified / Flexible schedule on as-needed basis, with hours varying based on operational needs and coverage requirements for both day and swing shifts.
• Provide guidance and support to employees on best safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on projects.
• Stay current on industry safety standards, best practices, and new regulations.
