Patient Care Technical (TEMP)

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care under direct supervision of a RN or other designated official performing delegated procedures of a specialized and technical nature. Assist with more complex procedures and perform more complex diagnostic testing. Completing required checklists and answering patient calls lights. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Observation / Monitoring

• Obtains vital signs, temperature, height / length, weight, oxygen saturation and pain scores; reports abnormal values to RN. Obtains other measurements (i.e., head circumference, abdominal girth) per unit standard.
• Responds to monitor alarms.
• Observes, monitors and reports the overt physical condition of assigned patient(s).
• Responds to physiologic monitor alarms based on unit training and competencies.
• Measures and records intake and output.
• Functions as a sitter.
• Assists physician / provider during diagnostic procedures; assists and supports patient before and during procedures; assists in specimen collection.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma, GED or equivalent, ability to read and write, and one of the following :

Desired Qualifications

Completion of a Certified Nurse Aide or Certified Medical Assistant program; basic computer skills; course work in an Allied Health field.

Flexible / On-call basis

Modes of Work
