Job Status : Direct Hire as an employee of Company – NOT a temporary job

Work Schedule & Compensation

  • Full-time, full benefits
  • Variable shifts
  • Salary for new hires : up to $21.00 per hour, to start (based on experience and education)

    • Job Description

    EMS Communications Specialist will be responsible for processing incoming patient transport requests and receiving all incoming phone calls in a timely manner; and is responsible for processing all condition codes, monitoring fire alarms, addressing security requests, and providing phone operator service during off hours..

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background with emergency medical services and great communication skills. EMT and / or Paramedic certification is strongly preferred.

    Minimum Require ments :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience current or prior EMS Communications experience required
  • Advanced proficiency using computers, general navigation, ability to learn new software
  • Excellent communication skills are required
  • Current EMT and / or Paramedic certification strongly preferred

    • Job Responsibilities :

  • Efficiently schedule non-medically necessary transportation for eligible clients / consumers
  • Plan and coordinate transportation via the appropriate mode in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Receive emergency calls and process appropriately
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Receive and document medical command reports and notify the emergency department
  • Monitor hospital alarm systems
  • Coordinate medical command requests from paramedic to physician and document the request
  • Process incoming calls
  • Document all information in the cloud-based EMS Dispatch computer-aided system
  • Efficiently process medically necessary patient transportation requests on a timely basis.
  • Receive hospital condition codes and send out notification page per policy and procedure
  • Perform hospital operator duties on the overnight shift
