Program Coordinator

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a Program Coordinator to support and grow equestrian education programs at Clark County Extension in Las Vegas, NV. This role focuses on hands-on learning for youth and the community through equine and agricultural activities. The Program Coordinator creates a positive learning environment that helps participants develop communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and lead equine programs including 4-H horse clubs, clinics, seminars, and camps.
  • Support ranch activities such as gardening, farm-to-table programs, animal areas, and school field trips.
  • Coordinate events, manage documentation, and ensure policy compliance.
  • Serve as primary contact for program inquiries and build community partnerships.
  • Lead outreach and recruitment to increase participation.
  • Collect and analyze program data and support budget tracking.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related experience OR Master's Degree and one (1) year of related experience.

Related Experience :

  • Experience in program coordination, management, or a similar role.
  • Agricultural skills, animal husbandry, and / or overall equine / ranch management best practices or related experience.

    • Certification and Licensure :

  • Valid driver's license.
  • CPR / First Aid certified or be able to acquire after hire.
  • PATH Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) certification or be able to acquire after hire.

    • Schedule or Travel Requirements :

  • Occasional Travel throughout Clark County.
  • Some evening and weekend work required.

    • Compensation Grade : Administrative Faculty B

    Salary is competitive and commensurate with related education and experience.
