Description

1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.

Perform surgical and operating room duties as assigned according to established policies and procedures to assist the surgeon and other health care team members in providing effective surgical care. Primary patient populations : CV

2. Equipment utilized in the unit / dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)

Primary procedures completed are orthopedics, plastic surgery and ENT (pediatric and adult). Systems used : Zimmer, Depuy, Biomet, and Striker total replacements. Experience in at least one of these systems is required.

3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.

Minimum 2 years CVOR experience

4. Specific licensures and certifications / registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)

BLS. Must be on the North Dakota Board of Nursing Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) Registry at the time employment begins.

5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)

0630-1500, n open to late shift or 10 hour shifts

6. Floating to other units / departments. (If so, to which units / departments?)

Potentially floating to other OR's.

7. Bed size / number of rooms / daily specimen / procedure count for this unit / dept.

30 ORs

8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)

9. Dress Code :

Surgical scrubs provided by organization.

10. Tell us about the unit / department specific training and orientation program.

Provide up to 1 week of orientation but extend contract by 1 week. Ex. 12 week contract...1 week of orientation + 12 actual weeks of working = 13 weeks total.
