Sr Environmental Compliance Specialist
Location : Kansas City, KS
Compensation : $82,000 – $122,000 base + Annual Bonus
Benefits : Up to 14% 401(k) company contribution (includes 6% quarterly profit sharing), full benefits, discounted stock purchase plan, minimum 3 weeks PTO plus sick time and floating holidays

MUST HAVES
Minimum 8 years of experience in environmental compliance or consulting
Proven expertise with RCRA, NPDES, and SPCC regulations
Strong background in consulting, oil & gas, or heavy industry
Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently and be on 24 / 7 call for emergency events (unless on PTO)
Preferred Qualifications
BS / BA degree (preferred, not required) – Environmental or related field a plus
Familiarity with Title V and Air Regulations
Experience with remediation and spill response / cleanup

Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Auditing
Lead internal environmental audits and manage multiple compliance systems
Enhance existing programs based on audit outcomes
Permitting
Manage full lifecycle of environmental permits across all media
Ensure permit accuracy and regulatory alignment
Regulatory Interface
Serve as company representative during agency inspections
Lead discussions and negotiations related to compliance and enforcement
Risk Analysis
Apply risk-based decision-making to assess regulatory applicability
Determine and communicate compliance obligations
Field Operations & Emergency Response
Conduct site inspections and collect environmental samples
Provide 24 / 7 support for spill / release reporting and emergency response
Leadership & Oversight
Mentor junior staff and support professional development
Manage external consultants and assist in procedure development
