Position Summary

Monroe Middle School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Wrestling Coach to lead the middle school wrestling program. The ideal candidate will promote a positive inclusive and growth-oriented team culture that supports both individual and team success. This position requires a commitment to student-athlete development sportsmanship and adherence to Monroe Public Schools and MHSAA standards of conduct.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of wrestling techniques rules and training methods.
• Prior wrestling coaching experience preferred; experience working with middle school athletes a plus.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to connect with student-athletes families and staff.
• Ability to plan and organize practices competitions and conditioning sessions that promote skill development and teamwork.
• Must complete all MHSAA and district-required training and certifications (CPR First Aid Concussion Awareness and others as required).
• Availability for practices meets and team activities including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a wrestling program that emphasizes sportsmanship effort discipline and academic achievement.
• Teach wrestling fundamentals and conditioning appropriate for middle school athletes.
• Supervise student-athletes and assistant coaches ensuring safety and accountability at all times.
• Operate the program in compliance with MHSAA rules and district policies.
• Collaborate with the Athletic Director regarding scheduling communication and program needs.
• Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes through professionalism integrity and leadership.
• Encourage participation and promote school spirit and pride within the program.
