BOLTING FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

GENERAL SUMMARY

The primary function of this position is to complete Repairs, Calibrations and Rentals at customer sites, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. In addition to technical service delivery, the Field Service Technician will also be responsible for recommending and promoting appropriate company products and services during onsite visits to support customer operations and identify potential sales opportunities.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Providing on-site Field services and operating associated equipment such as but not limited to :

Torque and Tensioning on site repairs

  • Calibration – Torque Tools, Pumps, Gauges
  • Torque and Tensioning Rentals
  • Pipe Cutting, Flange Facing Rentals
  • Rental Deliveries
  • Adheres to safe and specified standards, completing all required documentation
  • Job preparation and mobilization / demobilization including equipment lists and preparation, procedures
  • Set up and adheres to all Hydraulic Technologies and site related procedures and polices including work permits and proper use of PPE and other equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a sense of on-site ingenuity to rectify problems with equipment and / or difficult situations
  • Maintains company quality, safety and environmental standards and policies
  • Interface with clients in a professional manner always representing HT to the highest standard
  • Communicates with Territory Manager daily on routes and customer requests
  • Accurate and timely completion and submission of all job-related documentation including QA-QC documents
  • Comply with specific task requirements including ability to identify potential hazards using risk assessment.
  • Carry out driving duties in accordance with the Company’s requirements.
  • Adhere to the company’s procedures in relation to quality management and environment systems.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Safety Procedures and Policies.
  • Book travel and maintain travel records though Navan page.
  • Manage expenses during travel as well as submit expense reports monthly.
  • Use company email to communicate with internal and external clients
  • Recommend and promote appropriate company products and services during onsite customer visits to support operational needs and drive additional sales opportunities.

    SKILLS

  • Computer skills include knowledge of Microsoft Windows software suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and company business ERP system.
  • Read and interpret documents such as operating procedural manuals, maintenance instructions, safety rules and MSDS.
  • Ability to scope, troubleshoot and execute projects to required specifications with support from service center.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers, or employees of organization.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, including the use of decimals and fractions.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Resolve problems involving several variables in standardized and non-standardized situations.
  • Will be traveling to customer sites alone, must be able to operate a motor vehicle with a valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to pass site specific background and drug tests as needed.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Experience with hydraulic bolting, pump repairs, calibration and field machining equipment with no hands-on supervision
  • Process Basic Plus and / or OSHA 10
  • Active Nuclear clearance is preferred
  • TWIC card preferred; eligibility to obtain a TWIC card is required
  • Valid Driver’s License is required
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.

    The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    The working conditions described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while

    performing the principal duties and responsibilities of the job. The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area which, under certain conditions, requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. The temperature of the primary work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. Industrial lighting provided.
