Job Information

Responsible for leading cost accounting including ensuring accurate inventory costing, inventory valuation, inventory reserve analysis, and inventory compliance. Provides strategic direction, systems, projects and programs in cost accounting discipline including enhancing cost / manufacturing accounting processes utilizing the Company’s ERP system. Partner with operational functions and in implementing and scaling processes in support of operational excellence.

Role & Responsibility

  • Manage all cost accounting functions, including costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and excess / obsolete inventory reserves.
  • Maintain and update costs of products, materials, and overhead rates.
  • Perform month-end close activities related to cost accounting and inventory.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and communicate monthly results focused on cost of goods sold, variances, and movements in inventory.
  • Maintain and enhance cost accounting systems and processes, with a strong emphasis on automation and scalability.
  • Lead inventory costing project to convert from actual cost to standard cost system.
  • Key player in implementing new product line cost accounting setup in ERP system.
  • Partner with operations and supply chain to track cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes with relevant cost data and analysis.
  • Develop KPIs and other important operational metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards.
  • Coordinate audits and provide cost-related information to external auditors as required.
  • Assist with ERP system enhancements related to cost and inventory modules.

Job Requirement

Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • CMA (highly preferred), CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Knowledge & Skill :

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory control.
  • Proficiency in Oracle JD Edwards ERP system and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders and influence decision making.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and process improvement.
