Machine Operator – Band Saw (Training Provided)

Elgin, IL

Pay : Based on experience

We are currently seeking a Machine Operator to operate a Band Saw at a well-established facility. Training will be provided for the right candidate. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team in a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities :

Operate and monitor assigned band saw machinery

Assist with routine preventive maintenance and inspections

Work with plant management to ensure inventory of parts is maintained

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Follow all established safety rules and procedures

Organize parts and prepare them for the next stage of processing

Operate additional fabrication equipment as needed

Use hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, drills, grinders, and banders

Use measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, and micrometers

Read and interpret simple blueprints and geometric tolerances

Convert and work with fractions and decimals

Produce quality parts efficiently while working safely and independently

Requirements :

Minimum of 2 years of recent experience operating a band saw

Ability to operate a forklift and / or overhead crane (preferred)

Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints and shop drawings

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain productivity in high-pressure situations

Must be able to work with minimal supervision
