Expatiate Communications is seeking a highly skilled and nationally certified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will facilitate seamless communication for our Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients, colleagues, and candidates across a variety of professional settings. Please submit your resume. Send Your Credentials After submitting your application, email a copy of your Degree (in related field), and a copy of any related licenses / certifications to recruiting@excomweb.com.  Responsibilities : Provide Real-time InterpretationAccurately and effectively interpret spoken English into ASL and ASL into spoken English during a wide range of engagements including : Internal team meetings, training sessions, and company-wide presentations.Client meetings, workshops, and project discussions.Recruitment interviews and onboarding sessions.Informal office interactions and social events.Ensure Linguistic & Cultural AccuracyMaintain the integrity of the message, including tone, nuance, and intent, while respecting cultural differences between hearing and Deaf communities.Maintain ConfidentialityAdhere to the highest ethical standards and strict confidentiality protocols regarding all sensitive company and client information.Prepare for Assignments Politely review materials, agendas, and context for upcoming assignments to ensure accurate and effective interpretation of specialized terminology (e.g., business, finance, technology, strategy). Collaborate and SupportWork collaboratively with colleagues, team leads, and support staff to ensure optimal communication access and the seamless integration of interpreting services.Advise on Best PracticesProvide insights and recommendations on communication strategies and accessibility best practices to foster a more inclusive workplace. Continuous Professional DevelopmentStay current with advancement in ASL, interpreting techniques, and relevant industry terminology through ongoing training and professional development.Qualifications : Can demonstrate ability to maintain neutrality, professionalism, and composure in high-pressure situations and with sensitive information. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization.Proven ability to adapt quickly to varying communication styles, subject matters, and fast-paced environments inherent to consulting. Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meets) and interpreting equipment. Requirements : Bachelors degree in Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or a related field preferred. Current, active certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) (e.g., NIC, CI / CT, or CDI) or equivalent national certification.Exceptional fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English, including deep understanding of ASL linguistics, grammar, and Deaf culture. Minimum 1 year of professional ASL interpreting experience in diverse settings. Experience interpreting in corporate, business, or professional services environments. Familiarity with complex business terminology and concepts.Eligibility for benefits may vary based on employment status, classification, and other factors.
